The Eco-Justice Center is an environmental education center and organic farm founded by the Racine Dominican Sisters in 2004. We promote exploration, connection, and education about sustainable growing practices and healthier ecosystems through our one-of-a-kind, on-site organic farm and 15-acre grounds.
What We Do Is Who We Are!
Bring people together
We strengthen our community by addressing food insecurity, promoting sustainable living, and providing inclusive learning and volunteer opportunities. Our Farm Corps program donates 30% of our harvest to Racine’s food pantries.
Through hands-on experiences in gardening, sustainability, and nutrition, we empower people to connect with their food systems, make healthier choices, and enjoy a welcoming space for all.
Educate and strengthen our community
Eco-J offers tours, field trips, summer camps, and adult programs to inspire learning and connection with nature. Annual events like Pacas & Pints and Eco-J Discovery Days invite all ages to engage with sustainability.
Beyond programs, our grounds are open for exploration—enjoy a picnic, stroll the gardens, or take in the beauty of every season. We provide a welcoming space where people can connect with the land and each other.
Sustainable solutions for a better tomorrow
Eco-J is committed to protecting the environment through tree planting, biochar production, and water conservation. We also preserve historic farm buildings, valuing sustainability in both nature and heritage. Funds from our programs and events support alternative energy, organic farming, and other green initiatives, ensuring a healthier future for our planet and community.
