Building and Grounds Assistant
Positions Details: A lot of hard work goes into maintaining our historic farm and we are always looking for dedicated volunteers with a diverse set of skills. Whether you’re a master carpenter, a novice mechanic, or are just looking to cruise on the riding mower while listening to the ballgame, we would love to have you as part of our Building and Grounds Team! As a Buildings and Grounds Assistant you will have the opportunity to put your skills to work alongside our dedicated staff and volunteers. Our areas of need include painting, carpentry, general cleaning, small engine maintenance, and basic lawn care. This is a flexible position that allows you to volunteer your time as your schedule allows.

Open Volunteer Positions for High School Students
Summer Camp Position
This volunteer position is open to high school students between the ages of 14-18 years old. Assist in providing safe, fun, educational experiences for children ages 6-14 in our summer camps. Summer Camp Assistants interact with children, helping them feel comfortable, included, and proud of their participation. Summer Camp Assistants learn professional work skills and receive mentorship from Summer Camp Interns and Eco-Justice Center staff. Applications due no later than 5pm on May 23, 2026.

Join the Board
We rely on a talented and dedicated board of directors. This fantastic group of leaders works with us to promote our mission, determine policy, provide oversight, and educate folks about sustainable living.
Board of Directors
Meets: 4th Tuesday of the month at 6 pm via Zoom; once per month (no meetings in July or December)
Term: 3 years with opportunity to renew
Time Commitment: 1-3 hours per month
Requirements:
- Attend all board meetings
- Join a committee and attend committee meetings
- Volunteer position; no membership or dues required
Board member opportunities for college students
We have a unique opportunity for college students – serve you community by volunteering as a 1-year term board member! The commitment is from September through the following August, and may be extended if desired. You would be a voting member of our non-profit board and directly influence strategic initiatives within the organization. Additionally, you’ll connect with seasoned professionals and gain valuable experience outside of the classroom. Preference for consideration will be given to upperclassmen or graduate students, but all students and majors are encouraged to apply.
