


What to Expect
Field trip curriculum is specifically designed to be interactive, age-appropriate, and meet state standards. Programs are designed with engagement, movement, and outdoor learning in mind. Cash, check, or credit payments are due before the program starts.
Who Can Attend
Our field trips can accommodate a variety of group sizes, up to 50 students. We require a minimum group size of 10 students and a minimum of 1 adult per 10 students. All children attending and participating in the program must be a paid participant.

Growing Healthy
Nutrition | Plants | Animals
Discover how plants, animals, and people get energy to grow and be healthy!

Available for grades: K3-2nd
Program length: 1.5 hour
Cost: $7 per student; One adult chaperones is free for every 10 students. Additional chaperones are $5 each.
Teachers receive a guide that complements the field trip with pre- and post-activities.
During this program, students will:
- Learn about human and animal (alpaca) digestion
- Have the opportunity to meet and pet and alpaca
- Discuss how humans and animals get energy from food
- Discover through song how plants need sun and water to grow and make their own food
- Taste test produce grown using organic practices from our farm
- Discuss the benefits of eating fresh fruits and vegetables
- Explore the farm during inquiry based play time

Day on the Farm
Healthy Interactions | New Experiences
Explore the farm focusing on healthy interactions between people and animals and positive experiences trying new things!

Available for grades: K3-2nd
Program length: 1 hour or 1.5 hours with pollinator extension
Cost: $6 per student for 1 hour program; $7 per student for 1.5 hour program with extension activity
One adult chaperone is free for every 10 students. Additional chaperones are $5 each.
Teachers receive a guide that complements the field trip with pre- and post-activities.
During this program, students will:
- Taste test produce grown using organic practices from our farm
- Have the opportunity to pet an alpaca and feed goats and chickens
- Discuss how animals show us when they are stressed and relaxed and how we can engage with them safely
- Find out what jobs our animals have on the farm and how our gardens and animals work together
- Explore the farm during inquiry based play time
*Optional 20 minute pollinator extension: discover how bees pollinate our gardens by visiting different flowers

Solar Adventure
Investigative | Hands-on | Engaging
Explore our renewable energy sources and work in teams as solar installers to discover how solar panels generate electricity.

Available for grades: 5th-6th
Program length: 2 hours
Cost: $8 per student; One adult chaperone is free for every 10 students. Additional chaperones are $5 each.
Teachers receive a guide that complements the field trip with pre- and post-activities.

During this program, students will:
-View solar panels and wind turbine on grounds while learning about renewable energy
-Act out the internal workings of a solar panel to understand how panels turn the sun’s energy into electricity
-Work in teams as solar installers with hands-on solar tilt kits to determine the factors that are important in generating electricity with solar panels – like cover, direction and angle.
-Collect voltage data from multimeters and discuss their results with peers
