Eco-J’s Garden Supporter CSA
We are excited to announce the start of our very own small-scale CSA program for the 2023 growing season!
Become an Eco-J Garden Supporter and enjoy a summer of food and fun on our beautiful farm. Our CSA program will run from the beginning of June until the end of October (detailed calendar coming soon). Each CSA share includes a bi-weekly garden sampler box (10 boxes total) and unique farm encounters on pickup days. Our CSA members will also play an important role in funding Eco-J's efforts to provide produce to local food pantries.
CSA 101 Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a food distribution model that allows community members to pre-purchase a “share” of a local farm’s harvest. CSA members pay a membership fee at the beginning of the year and in return will receive produce throughout the growing season. This arrangement is mutually beneficial for farmers and members alike. Farmers benefit by receiving necessary funds earlier in the year, allowing them the ability to purchase seeds and equipment for the growing season. Members benefit by receiving consistent shares of fresh, local produce and by getting the opportunity to engage with and support local food producers. |

How does the Garden Supporter CSA work? As with other CSA programs, members of Eco-J’s Garden Supporter CSA pay a membership fee at the beginning of the season. In return, our members receive bi-weekly boxes of seasonal produce, fresh from our gardens. Boxes include seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Our members also receive a unique opportunity to engage with our space and get a ‘behind the scenes’ look at our farm operation. Each bi-weekly pick-up will include an exclusive learning experience for our members. Events will include farm tours, garden walks, animal encounters and more! |
|
How are we different? As a non-profit, part of Eco-J’s mission is to donate 50% of our produce to local food pantries. The fee our members pay to participate in our CSA program goes directly toward supporting this mission. In order to meet our donation goals we keep our program small, only offering 5 or 6 memberships per year. |
