Summer Education Internship

 

Summer 2025 Education Internship:  

Help educate children ages 6-14 about the environment, animals and organic farming in our Summer Camps. Interns develop child management techniques, interactive teaching strategies, and are directly mentored and extensively trained through a self-reflective, experiential training program.

  •  Facilitate outdoor educational activities for small groups of children ages 6-14.
  • Supervise and evaluate: Mentor high school volunteers on a day-to-day basis.
  • Prepare educational materials on an as-needed basis.
  • Internship focuses on career-related skills: We help prepare you for the professional workplace. Interns are encouraged to develop their skills through reflective, mentor-based relationships with education staff.
  • Other opportunities: Assist with gardening and harvesting activities on our 15-acre organic farm. Learn the basics of animal husbandry and handling techniques for our farm animals.

Volunteer Positions: 

Summer Camp Assistant: 

This volunteer position is open to high school students between the ages of 14-18 years old. Assist in providing safe, fun, educational experiences for children ages 6-14 in our summer camps. Summer Camp Assistants interact with children, helping them feel comfortable, included, and proud of their participation. Summer Camp Assistants learn professional work skills and receive mentorship from Summer Camp Interns and Eco-Justice Center staff. Applications due no later than 5pm on May 3.
